PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR SPRING 2024 SEASON

What are player evaluations?

Player evaluations occur before the start of each Spring Season.  These evaluations are not tryouts, but rather an opportunity for the players to be individually evaluated so that competitively balanced teams can be established in some of our divisions.   

What happens during a player evaluation?

Each player will participate in basic drills to assess fielding, hitting, and pitching skills appropriate for the division they are registered in. 

What happens after the player evaluation? 

Each player will be placed on a team in their division through the draft process.  Each division has a different method of drafting and placing players on teams.  More details on each divisions drafting and placement process can be found in the division plan of each division. 

Who is evaluated?

In 2024, Morrisville Little League will divide player evaluations into two groups based on age:  

All registered players aged 8 to 12 years should attend the evaluation with the exception of Majors eligible players (ages 11 and 12) who were drafted last spring by their Majors team.  Players older than 12 do not attend.   Players of these ages should attend regardless of the Division they are registered for.

When is my evaluation?

Evaluations will be held Saturday, March 2.

Individual time windows have been set based upon a player’s Little League age (their age as of August 31, 2024). 

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your age group’s start time.  Each player should report to the tent outside the batting cages to check in for the evaluation.

What should I bring?

Players should bring their own glove, bat, and batting helmet.  Please wear sneakers instead of spikes in the batting cage.

Where are the player evaluations held?

Player Evaluations will be held at the MLL Batting Cages located at Williamson Park 97 N Delmorr Ave, Morrisville, PA 19067.  The Cages are the blue building next to the Majors Field.  Please park in the main parking lot at Williamson Park and walk to the batting cage building.

Who should attend?

All registered players aged 6 and 7 years (regardless of the Division they are registered for) should attend the evaluation.
