Morrisville 10s Bring Home The Trophy

It was a storybook ending for the 10s as they made what will forever be known as "The Run at the Rumble," winning three consecutive games after losing the 9am winner's bracket final to Marlton, NJ.

They started warm-ups at 8:55am and continuously played baseball until the final championship out was recorded sometime around 5:20pm.  On the baseball front, nothing can be overstated. The clutch hits, the amazing defensive plays, the smart base running, the pitching under pressure. A collection of incredible individual performances collectively added up to a tremendous team accomplishment.

The final game was certainly a nail biter and only ended after Ryan Richer rolled over on his back and slammed the ball down on the 2nd base bag to officially end the 2019 Rumble!!!!! MLL beat Marlton, NJ 7 to 5.

A few crazy baseball facts about the weekend:
  • All twelve boys had MULTIPLE hits, the collective batting average for the tournament was .403
  • Everyone scored runs AND drove in runs
  • They had 20 2-out RBIs (clutch!!!!)
  • 10 of 12 boys pitched
  • In 23 innings of pressure packed baseball on Monday, the pitchers only walked 3 batters (simply unheard of at any level)
Thank you to the many volunteers that made this weekend a success, but a special THANK YOU to Andrew Zuckerman, Kelly Forester and Dawn Shannon for all of the heavy lifting and countless hours making sure this was the best tournament in the Tri-State area.
