Morrisville Little League Spring - Major Baseball Division  

Eligibility:  All players ages 11 and 12 (as of August 31, 2022), and players age 10 (as of August 31st, 2022), as drafted.  Parents of 11 year old players may elect to have their child play in the minor baseball division. 

Objective:  The major baseball division is a competitive baseball league.  This division will also provide a high level of instruction and development. 

Skill Development:  Players in the major baseball division should have already developed the basic skills necessary to play at this level and have a good understanding of the game of baseball.  The primary mission for this division will be to leverage the ability of each player in a competitive environment, while continuing to develop each player’s baseball skills.  Team managers will teach the skills that will be outlined by the “Skills by Division” committee.  

Placement on a Team:  Ten-year old players, and any eleven or twelve year old who did not play for a major baseball division team last year, must attend tryouts and must be drafted to play at this level.  Once a player is drafted by a major baseball division team, the player will remain with that same team throughout their time in the major baseball division.  If a player does not attend tryouts then he/she cannot be drafted onto a team until all of the other players have been selected. 

During The Season:  Games: Teams will typically play two 6 inning games per week from early April through early June against the other Morrisville Little League major baseball division teams.  Playing Time: Each player who is present at the start of a game will play a minimum of six defensive outs in the field and bat at least once during the game. Practices: Teams typically practice once or twice per week  Equipment: Morrisville Little League will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks.  The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher’s gear, helmets, first aid kit, and ice packs.  Each player needs to have their own glove; should wear rubber cleats; and boys must wear a protective cup. 

Location of Games:  All games are played on the major baseball field (the field next to the playground and the batting cage) in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.
