The 2019 Morrisville Travel Program

Check out our website at:    www.morrisvilletravel.org

Morrisville Travel was implemented by Morrisville Little League to provide a higher level of competition beyond its recreational program.   This program is independent of Morrisville Little League, and is designed to assist motivated MLL players who are willing to commit a great deal of time to the improvement of their skills in a team focused environment. The primary focus of the MLL Travel Program is player development and education with particular emphasis on developing position-specific skills.

To be eligible for Morrisville Travel, you are required to participate in the MLL In-House Program.  To be eligible for a travel team, you must be fully registered for both the In-House Program and the Travel Program prior to your child trying out for the travel team.

Registration Requirements

Registration for both travel as well as In-House are required prior to each tryout.  The 2019 registration fees are as follows:
- Travel: $225
- In-House:
- 8s & 9s = $135
- 10s, 11s & 12s = $150
- Concession stand deposit = $75

All fees/deposits will need to be submitted in order for your child to participate in the travel tryouts.

Step 1: Register your child for In-House online at www.gomll.org.

- Click the "Registration" link in the upper right section of the website.  Log in using your credentials or create a new log in, then follow the steps.

- This will cover both your In-House Registration Fee of $135 for 8s and 9s or $150 for 10s, 11s, and 12s as well as your concession stand deposit ($75 per family).

Step 2: Please bring a PAPER CHECK to the tryouts to cover the additional Travel Fee ($225 per player) made payable to "MLL Travel"

All fees/deposits will need to be submitted in order for your child to participate at the travel tryouts.

Additional Important Information

Important Note:  Players are expected to wear baseball attire and protective gear for the tryout, however please do NOT wear any Travel or All-Star uniform from a previous season.

We value Character, Courage, and Loyalty.   For those players that tryout at Morrisville Travel and "make the team" but decide to play elsewhere, your travel fee will be forfeited.

****Additional fees may be required for participation in any pre or post-season tournaments.  Also, if a Travel Team decides to participate in programs outside the traditional Suburban Travel League, additional fees may be required.

Depending on the number of players who try out, and the number of players who show the skills necessary to play travel baseball, MLL may field one or more teams at each of the above age groups.  These are subject to change year to year based on the number of players and volunteer coaches, but our main objective is to maximize the opportunity to play travel for as many kids as possible.  Rosters are generally limited to twelve (12) players, but a coach can opt to add a thirteenth (13th) player at his or her discretion, provided that player ranked appropriately in the tryout and/or has demonstrated (through prior In-House and travel baseball) the skills needed to compete in travel baseball.

Travel baseball requires a significant time commitment as workouts will start shortly after teams are selected.  These workouts are in addition to the In-House workout requirements that will begin in March.  The MLL In-House Program always takes precedence over travel when conflicts occur. The following is the typical level of time commitment for players involved with travel baseball.
  • November through December - 1-2 travel practices per week.
  • January through February - 1 travel practice per week.
  • March - 1 travel practice, 2 in-house practices, optional pre-season travel tournament.
  • April-June - 2 in-house games, 2 travel games, 1 in-house practice.
All players should arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time to sign in and warm up on their own.  Tryouts will be held in the cages as well as on the field.  No parent is permitted in the cages or on the fields assisting or coaching their child during tryouts.  Only evaluators and volunteers conducting these tryouts are allowed in the cages and fields.  PLEASE BRING CLEATS AND SNEAKERS.
